About FinWise
A student-led project inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, dedicated to making financial literacy accessible to everyone.
Our Story
FinWise began as an extracurricular project when we learned about the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We were particularly struck by SDG 8—Decent Work and Economic Growth—and the role that financial literacy plays in achieving it.
We noticed that many people our age (and adults too!) struggle with basic financial concepts like budgeting, understanding interest, and planning for the future. Schools often don't teach these essential life skills, leaving people to learn through trial and error.
That's why we created FinWise: a free, accessible resource that breaks down financial literacy into easy-to-understand lessons and practical tools. Our goal is to empower individuals to take control of their financial futures and, in doing so, contribute to sustainable economic growth for all.
